GOOD BYE 2020!!!!!!!
1)2020, who would have predicted such a mysterious year! From Jan-Apr, Covid-19 affected the domestic China who lead the sudden halt of many factories. Quotations for canned products were unavailable while even the confirmed orders were unable to be shipped.
2)From May to Sep, virus in China had been successfully controlled and factories restarted to work. Better then doing nothing, finally I shipped out all the pending orders in those precious “ordinary days” with quite not a steady price range.
3)On the ending Oct-Dec, under the serious impact of Covid-19 to abroad, the ocean freight soared and then turned the CIF price unbelievable high. However, I fulfilled the contract with the early confirmed CIF price, even this means losing margins a lot.
HELLO 2021!!
It is predicted that the ocean freight will still go higher in 2021. Exchanging rate of RMB against USD may keep on appreciating. The cost of Iron for canned food is also raising.
Following the mentioned situations, the canned food may lose the advantage in the international market. Take canned broad bean for example, some clients have already started to buy from Jordan.
Nevertheless, updating my website by recording the work is still a kind of fun. If possible, I’d like to upload some videos later on.
In the passing year, I also did quite a lot of importing and I will record my feelings then.
